The Story

The Verdigris is envisioned as an epic saga, told in seven movements, that chronicle the origin of the Sisters of the Tarnished Rose

A clandestine oathbound cadre who rise from the ashes of catastrophe to become the Emperor’s most precise mortal instrument. These movements chart their transformation from rumor to reckoning, tracing the hidden battles that shaped them and the sacrifices that defined them.

Though rooted in the Era Indomitus, the series is written so that when the final page turns, the Verdigris slot seamlessly into the broader Warhammer 40,000 canon: an elite, deniable strike formation operating at the intersection of the Adepta Sororitas, the various Ordos of the Inquisition, and the shadowed Eyes of the Emperor.

Movement I — Invocatio

Canoness Grace Ferradomina, Dialogus Praevera Lex, and Repentia Superior Kaleith Scindor could not be more different — yet each hears the same impossible calling to Holy Terra. There, in the shadow of the Golden Throne, they are broken down, reforged, and reborn as the embodiment of His virtue and the instrument of His will.

Movement I chronicles the birth, training, and first deployment of the Verdigris.

Rogue elements within the Ecclesiarchy have uncovered something buried deep beneath the mining world of Skarro-VII — a dark presence whose influence threatens to draw the full might of the Imperial war machine into its trap. As the Imperium lurches blindly toward disaster, it falls to the nascent Verdigris to become the temper that keeps the Emperor’s blade from shattering.
